The article takes a closer look at the so-called "Moors' lovefeast," an event that took place in the Moravian Church settlement of Herrnhaag in December 1742, and analyses how contemporary practices of enslavement fed into the Moravians' methods of representing missionary success as well as their unique spirituality and eschatological vision.
