We are very happy to share that Prof. Dr. Julia Hillner has been appointed as the co-editor in chief of the esteemed "Historische Zeitschrift," making history as the first-ever woman in this position. Established in 1859, "Historische Zeitschrift" is renowned as the world's oldest historical journal.

Julia Hillner is a professor at the BCDSS, Research Area E Representative1 and Principal Investigator of the project Connecting Late Antiquities2, which is funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and the Arts and Humanities Research Council through a UK-German collaborative grant. 

The appointment of Julia Hillner as co-editor in chief not only acknowledges her exceptional qualifications but also represents a significant step forward for women in academia.
